Sophisticated marketers know that a well-designed legal marketing program integrates branding and business development, and roots all of its client-facing initiatives in rigorously conceived positioning strategy. However, real-world exigencies often create a separation between firm-wide strategic messaging and day-to-day business development as it is executed by firm lawyers. Zeughauser Group partners Kent Zimmermann and Norm Rubenstein will share their strategy for aligning branding and business development, and then analyze several legal brands that are embraced and used by the firms' lawyers. Norm Rubenstein has served as national president of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) as well as president of its Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Recognized for his professional services marketing leadership, in 2007 Norm was among the inaugural honorees of the Legal Marketing Association's Hall of Fame. Kent Zimmerman, a past board member of the Association of Corporate Counsel's Chicago chapter, consults law firms in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, strategic growth planning, and client feedback.
